Worship and Facility FAQ

  • 10:15 every Sunday

  • Please park in the front parking lot on California Street and enter the double red doors to the sanctuary. If you are joining for forum before the service begins, enter either through the sanctuary entrance and turn right or enter through the office door on the right of the building (as you’re facing it.)

  • Each Sunday, you will have a bulletin handed to you with the complete order of service.  There will be hymn singing, praying, listening to the priest and readers, time for reflection, the opportunity to come to the altar for Holy Eucharist, and a chance to greet people close to you.

  • Our parish uses the Rite 2 service in the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer. We celebrate Holy Eucharist every Sunday.  Read more here or here

During our Sunday service, we begin with a hymn and a prayer.  We then listen to short readings from the Bible and to a homily (sermon) which seeks to explore the readings and gives us something to think about for the week ahead.  After the homily, we join together in communal prayers from the Book of Common Prayer, have a chance to greet each other, and prepare ourselves for Holy Eucharist (communion), where we share bread and wine at the altar in memory of Christ.  Then, strengthened by our time together, we sing a final hymn.

  • Please join us in whatever clothing makes you happy! Some of us prefer casual, some like the opportunity to dress up a little—wear whatever clothing in which you are most comfortable worshipping.

  • Masks are optional and during high local transmission periods (CDC Orange status), highly recommended.

  • There are three (3) sets of restrooms: 2 for church attendees and 1 in the sacristy and robing hallway for celebrants and altar guild members. For attendees, one set of restrooms is located on the main Fellowship Hall hallway and one set is near the office entrance, in the classroom area. Ushers will be happy to direct you.

  • For visitors with children, please either contact us ahead of time by emailing stpaulscolumbusin@gmail.com with your request by 3PM of Friday before service, or arrive a few minutes before the service starts, inquire at the entrance with the greeters/ushers, and we will introduce your child(ren) to our caregivers and accommodate your needs.

  • We currently have Coffee Hour following the 10:15 service on the Second Sunday of the month.

  • The sanctuary entrance (through the red doors) is ADA accessible. Our sanctuary accommodates communion at the altar or if preferred, in one’s seat in the pews. If you prefer to receive communion in the pew, please let the usher know when you arrive and sit/position yourself on the aisle.

  • Unfortunately, our sanctuary’s size and its seating arrangement do not accommodate an allergy sensitive/scent-free section.
